19 people have been injured after a bus they were travelling in overturned on the N1 near the Koeberg Interchange in the direction of Paarl.
Four people sustained moderate injuries and thirteen people sustained minor injuries, while two people sustained serious injuries.
“The patients were taken to various surrounding hospitals for further treatment, various emergency service agencies worked together to treat and transport the patients quickly from the scene.
“It is unclear what caused the bus to overturn. The N1 in the direction of Paarl at the incident was closed for some time due to the bus blocking the road; traffic was diverted up Koeberg Road around the incident,” said ER 24 spokesperson Tristan Wadley.
