Four wanted for armed robbery

Police are requesting the assistance of the public in arresting two suspects for armed robbery at a filing station in Durbanville.

It is alleged that the four suspects entered the garage in a VW golf requesting air for their tyres.

Police spokesperson Captain Bernice Laäs-Bezuidenhout says the suspects threatened the station workers with guns and screw drivers.

“The suspects then threatened a worker with a fire arm and a screw driver and robbed him of R 2000-00 belonging to the Engen Garage.

“They tied up the complainant with shoelaces and also took some sweets, cold drinks and cigarettes from the backroom and left,” said Laas-Bezuindenhout.

She says no one was injured during the incident, however police opened a case of armed robbery.

Police are meanwhile are making an appeal to anyone with information regarding the case to contact Durbanville police on 021 970 3811/2 or 10 111.
