Yesterday’s taxi strike saw some of the townships in the province taking advantage of that when truck delivery furniture was attacked at traffic lights in Nyanga.
A group of thugs, some of them described as children, took the advantage of the taxi strike in Nyanga by stoning the delivery truck.
“The truck driver and one occupant were instructed to get of the truck. They ran to the police station to ask for help but when police got to the truck the seat was burning”.
“Furniture was taken from the truck and police are investigating, we think the incident was sparked by the taxi strike as many youths did not attend schools,” said Nyanga police spokesperson Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi.
