Five killed in N1 crash

Five people died in a serious accident on the N1, near Laingsburg in the direction of Beautfort West, when five vehicles collided this morning.
Two trucks, two cars and a panel van were involved in the accident.
Metro EMS spokesperson Anzille Smit says four occupants of the panel van were burnt beyond recognition.
While one occupant of the car was fatally injured, the other occupant travelling in the same car was seriously injured and taken to Laingsburg Hospital by the Metro EMS ambulance.
The occupants of the other car weren't injured.
Metro EMS and Rescue are still on the scene.
