A 37 year old man has been arrested for armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.
This follows after a woman was robbed of her vehicle by two armed men in Observatory last night.
Woodstock police say the woman had just parked her Red VW city golf when the men took her belongings and drove off with her car.
“The vehicle was later seen parked in Drake Street, Observatory and during police observation, we arrested a 37 year old male,” said spokesperson Sergeant Hilton Malila.
He says the second suspect is still at large.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the whereabouts of the suspect is requested to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Warren Smit at the Woodstock police,” Malila said.
The suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s court on Friday on chargers of armed robbery and theft of motor vehicle.
