Khayelitsha police are investigating a murder case after a boy was killed in Khayelitsha earlier this week.
The 18 year old boy was attacked by a group of youth who the assaulted and stabbed him.
It is alleged that the deceased was walking with his friends from Q section when they were approached by a group of youngsters who were armed by knives, pangas and golf clubs.
“The three friends felt threatened and ran. The group caught the deacesed and assaulted him by the weapons and he died on the scene from the stab wounds ,” said police spokesperson Captain Anneker van der Vyfer.
Van der Vyfer says, after preliminary investigation on the scene police searched the nearby area and detained 17 people for questioning, which six of them charged with murder.
The six suspects aged between 15 and 18 appeared in the Khayelitsha Magistrate court yesterday and the case was postponed for bail information.
