Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe is visiting 2010 Legacy Projects around Johannesburg today.
His tour will end in his attendance of the Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium.
Concerns have been expressed over the state of the pitch, following heavy rain in Gauteng.
Pirates are currently fifth on the premiership log, two points ahead of Chiefs, who are in seventh position.
Meanwhile in Pretoria, Blue Bulls fans are painting the city light blue as excitement builds for this afternoon’s Currie Cup final against the Free State Cheetahs.
