An average of 462 bags of litter were removed over six days from each of the 12 beaches being cleaned as part of the fifth annual Vodacom beach campaign.
The 23 day campaign sees 120 cleaners and 12 supervisors descending on popular beaches over the festive season.
These include Scottburgh and Ballito in KwaZulu-Natal, Jeffrey’s Bay and Port St John’s in the Eastern Cape and Hout Bay and Camps Bay in Cape Town
