New Years festivities took a turn for the worst as nine people, including a baby, were injured in Hillbrow last night.
An 11 month old baby girl was seriously injured after being hit on the head with a brick.
She is currently on life support at a Johannesburg hospital.
Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini says some of the injured people were stabbed in drunken quarrels, while others were hit by objects.
In a seperate incident in Central Johannesburg, 10 people were arrested after a bottle was thrown out of a flat’s window, hitting a police car.
