South African rescue teams, working with the Americans, have retrieved more than three bodies from ruined building in the capital of Haiti following last week’s devastating earthquake that had a magnitude of seven on the Richter scale.
Other international teams have also retrieved more bodies, but hopes of many more survivors being found is fast fading.

The ruined capital is also being plagued by marauding bands of looters and escaped prisoners.
