Police arrested a 35 year old man for murder in Melkbosstrand yesterday.
Inspector November Filander says it is alleged that the suspect took the deceased and another unidentified man to his house in Atlantic Street in the area, where they consumed alcohol.
“Later a fight ensued between the suspect and one of the two men. An alarm went off where neighbours alerted the police,” said Filander.
Upon arrival of police on the scene, they found the suspect in possession of a hammer. The body of one of the men was also found, who had sustained a wound to the head.
Police arrested the owner of the house, who is in police custody.
The 48 year old man was taken in for questioning by police.
The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage
The suspect will appear in court soon.
