A 7 year old girl was killed in an accident in Hout Bay at the weekend.
Captain Tanya Lesch says the 20 year old driver of the vehicle, from the Hangberg area, was driving in the direction of Harbour road when she lost control of the vehicle.
“The vehicle collided with a huge palm tree and again with an electrical pole and came to a halt on the pavement. The driver and a 15 year old female passenger were trapped inside the vehicle,” said Lesch.
On arrival of police, they found four children aged between 7 and 15 years old, lying outside the vehicle.
Seven year old, Demi Abrahams from Hangberg died in hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened .
