The four South African peacekeepers who were kidnapped early in the month have been freed.
Reports say the two men and two women, who are part of the United Nations African Union Mission to Darfur in Sudan, are in good health, and no ransom was paid for their release.
The four were kidnapped on April 11 when Sudan held its first democratic elections in over 20 years.
Meanwhile the country’s President Omar al Bashir has been declared the winner of the historic election.
His 68-percent victory in the elections has however been marred with a warrant for his arrest still issued by the International Criminal Court and labelled a war criminal.
