A man in his late thirties allegedly shot himself with his gun at his home in Bellville this morning.
Er24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson says the man’s panic stricken wife explained that her husband was cleaning his gun at the time when she heard a shot.
“She rushed to where she found her husband lying on the floor in a pool of blood and phoned the 084 124 emergency number for an ambulance.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the man with a penetrating wound to his left chest. The man was responsive, and was treated on scene by the Advance Life Support paramedic before being transported to the Durbanville hospital, where he was handed over in a stable condition,” said Jackson.
