One person sustained critical injuries while two others were seriously injured on the N3 near the R 550 off ramp in the Heidelberg area earlier today.

“It is believed that a 37 year old man was stopped on the shoulder of the N 3 to put up sign boards. The driver of a Toyota Hilux lost control of his vehicle and struck the 37 year old worker. The vehicle then hurtled out of control and came to rest at the base of a steep embankment,” said Netcare 911’s Chris Botha.

On arrival at the scene, paramedics attempted to stabilise the injured victims before transporting them to hospital for further treatment.
