The two brothers who have been charged with murder following the crash of their bus in the Hex River Valley in the Western Cape earlier this month have been granted bail.
Malinga and Sisa Nonama appeared in the De Doorns Magistrate’s Court yesterday. One of the brothers was driving the bus when it veered off the road, killing 23 people, including 16 women and four children.
Reports say bail was granted as part of deal whereby the defence team would not actively pursue an application to have the state release details about the case.
Police spokesperson Mzikayise Moloi says their bail condition is that they report to the police station at 8am and 8pm every day.
They would appear in court again on June 28.
