Alleged robber behind bars for illegal possession of firearm

A 28 year-old suspect from New Cross Road has been arrested for illegal possession fire arm and ammunition.
The suspect has also been on the run for alleged business robbery in the area.
Police investigations lead to his arrest after he abandoned his residence and went hiding.
This is after he was involved in the armed robbery in the vicinity of KTC as well as New Cross Road last week.
The suspect is due to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s court tomorrow.
However investigation continues.
