Two people were arrested in Woodstock following a clamp down on drug related offences in the area and the notorious Senator Park in the CBD by Metro Police.

The two were arrested during a raid in Lower Church Street in Woodstock. Deputy Chief Yolanda Faro said 196 units of rock, units of unga and mandrax tablets were found in their possession.

“Both were charged with possession of illegal narcotics and the man had additional charges of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest against his name,” said Faro.

At Senator Park police confiscated drugs, retail and credit cards and a UK driver’s licence.

Faro said the ongoing operations by Metro Police aim to curb drug trade in the city.
