Seven FIFA World Cup Stadium security stewards have been arrested following illegal strike action.
The police’s Andre Traut said 200 employees of Stallion Security assembled outside its offices in Ysterplaat.
Traut said police managed to disperse the crowd, but had to fire rubber bullets.
Over 3 000 police officials are now performing security duties at several World Cup Stadiums.
Meanwhile, Stallion Security has cancelled its contract to provide security at the stadiums following a dispute with the Local Organising Committee.
