Mandela family members, including former president Nelson Mandela and Chief Mandla Mandela, attended the funeral service of one of Madiba’s great-grandchildren, Zenani, at the chapel of St Stithians College in Johannesburg this morning.
Madiba was supported by his wife Graça Machel. Winnie Madikizela Mandela and Zenani’s grandmother Zindzi were also present.
The 13-year-old, who was killed in a car crash following last week’s World Cup opening concert, was buried earlier this morning during a private ceremony at the Fourways cemetery.
Several government ministers and other dignitaries wore pink scarves and ties in a show of support.
