Nyanga police arrested a 17 year old man after he and his accomplice hijacked a vehicle in Wallet Ham Road in Lansdowne.
The two male suspects approached the complainant while stationary at the robots and demanded vehicle keys. They then sped off with the vehicle in the direction of Lansdowne Road.
Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said “Nyanga police responded to a call and spotted the vehicle in Sheffield Road, Philippi. When the suspects became aware ot the police they sped off but collided with another vehicle. “
“Police managed to arrested a 17 year old suspect of Lower Crossroads and the other suspect ran away,” she said.
The suspect will appear in court soon as he is facing charges of hijacking and possession of a hijacked vehicle.
