A 19-year-old Somalian man died after he was allegedly shot by two suspects in his shop at Vlei Sweet Home Farms Nyanga on Monday morning.
It is believed the attackers demanded that the victim open the burglar gate of the shop.
Nyanga Police Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said while he was searching for the key the suspects fired a shot at him through the gate, fatally wounding him in the face. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
She added the shooting was a crime incident and not violence against foreign nationals. A murder cdocket has been opened.
