Chanel du Toit’s husband, the woman that was found strangled to death at her home in Dieu Donn wine estate in Franschhoek will be pleading not guilty to her murder.
Johan du Toit, 26, appeared in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on a murder charge and was released on R6 000 bail.
He has been ordered to report to the Franschhoek police station twice a week as part of his bail conditions and he was also not allowed to leave the Paarl district or have any contact with State witnesses.
Du Toit is accused of strangling his wife whose body was found strangled in their home on the wine estate on 7 July 2010.
His attorney, William Booth said the State had a weak case at the moment.
The case has been postponed for the 22 of September 2010.
