On Thursday evening a man burnt to death in an accident on the N1 north near the Atterbury road off ramp.
The fire department found the twisted remains of both vehicles littering the highway.
Paramedics and firemen were unable to free the man in the burning vehicle. He was trapped in the vehicle sustained extensive burns.
The other driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for the treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
