Two policemen stationed at Milnerton and Langa were arrested for armed robbery on Thursday morning, police said.
The two constables aged 28 and 37 with three accomplices allegedly robbed a man of three boxes of jewellery and a large amount of money.
The victim was opening a gate in his Nyanga home on Wednesday evening when he was approached by five men who introduced themselves as police officers and asked for directions.
A neighbour managed to get one vehicles' plate number, gave it to the police who traced its ownership to a Milnerton police officer.
The police officers will appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court on Monday.
