A day after South Africa hosted one of the biggest tournaments in the world the Fifia World Cup successfully; xenophobic attacks have started in the country again, covering the positive of the world cup.

Another attack happened in Khayelitsha yesterday.

Somalian shopkeepers were threatened and forced from their stores.

Many of the Somalians who live in the informal settlements were forced to go and spent the night at the police station.

Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa and Defence Minister Lindiwe Sisulu visited the Western Cape yesterday to assess the xenophobic attacks.

Lindiwe Sisulu has been reported as saying “anybody who targeted foreigners would be dealt with and that the army would help the police”.

We South Africans are known for our friendliness, warmth and humanity but yet we treat people who come from the same continent in such a cruel manner.

We are destroying everything that our struggle heroes fought for like unity and peace.
