Trade union Solidarity has raised its concerns over state hospitals on Gauteng’s East and West Rands.
The union says the hospitals could come to a standstill if employees decide to resign over wage issues.
Employees who perform contract work for the provincial government have not received overtime, night shift or Sunday pay for the past 10 months.
Solidarity’s Labour Court Division Head, Dirk Groenewald says workers have been told to wait until the new financial year for their outstanding pay.
