A person has died in an accident near Vereeniging while trying to flee from traffic officials.
The Traffic officials tried to stop the driver for a speeding violation.
The driver ignored their signals and turned his car around to flee the situation.
The car was travelling against the flow of traffic when it collided head-on with a bakkie.
The passenger of the car was declared dead on the scene and the driver of the bakkie has sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the car was arrested on the scene and sustained injuries.
