Congress of the People deputy president, Mbazima Shilowa, says there is no way the party’s elective conference can be postponed.
Shilowa was suspended by party leader, Mosioua Lekota, for alleged mismanagement of the party’s funds, which Shilowa says they are unable to prove.
The deputy says it is quite clear that the actions by Lekota and his faction are those of desperate people.
Shilowa says the elective conference must go ahead in Thaba Nchu in the Free State next week Friday.
