A 28-year-old mother who is believed to have poisoned her two daughters has been arrested for murder and attempted murder on Wednesday evening in Cape Town.
Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said, “The woman, from the Brown’s Farm informal settlement, allegedly asked her boyfriend for money to buy food for her children.”
She said, “When he refused, she fed herself and the children poison.”
The 14-month-old girl baby died while she and her eight-year-old daughter were rushed to hospital.
The woman is facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
She is currently being guarded by police in hospital.
