Gauteng police have arrested five students from Jules High School for the alleged possession of drugs and alcohol on Monday.
The learners were caught during a joint crime awareness programme search as they entered the school grounds.
Community safety spokesperson Thapelo Moiloa said, “Three boys had dagga in their possession and a 14-year-old girl had a 200ml bottle of Klipdrift. Another girl was found with 10 unidentified tablets. “
The so-called headache tablets according to the girl, turned out to be drugs following an investigation by the police.
Community Safety MEC Nonhlanhla Mazibuko expressed her dismay, saying a school environment was meant to be a centre for learning and teaching.
