Residents of Kya Sands are today marching down Malibongwe Drive towards Kya Sands, in protest over housing.
The march is expected to be finished by one and earlier this morning the march disrupted traffic, but the strong police presence controlled the disruption.
Warrant Officer Balan Muthan said "It's a peaceful protest about issues surrounding housing in the area and lack of housing and bad sanitation".
He added that the residents were carrying banners, singing, dancing, chanting but it was non-violent.
Residents will be handing over a memorandum of requests to the area councillors at 13:00.
