Today a 36-year old police officer has been found murdered in the Free State.

Amelia Henning, who was a clerk at Mangaung police station, was found with several stab wounds to the chest.

The body was found by two school children next to Pasteur Drive while they were on their way to school.

Lieutenant Colonel Annelie Wrensch said “we suspect that Henning was murdered in the early hours of Wednesday morning but did not know how she had come to be on the side of the road at that time. She was off duty. It will all be part of the investigation we haven't found her or any abandoned car, it is suspected she was on foot when she was murdered."
