The Basic Education Department says the process of marking Grade 12 final exam papers has been completed.
A total of 127 marking centres operated in the country with about 39-thousand markers.
The department will hand the papers over to quality assurer Umalusi to take over on the 24th of this month to check preliminary results.
Matrics are expected to receive their results on January 6 next year.
