Police are on high alert in the holiday resort town of Knsyna on the Garden Route.
This comes after last weekend police busted a 380-million rands drug bust, which shocked residents.
A police spokesperson said holidaymakers will notice police marine patrols on the famous lagoon this year, following the drug bust.
Residents in the area reported suspicious activity which was happening aboard a luxury, Chinese-owned boat next to an upmarket waterfront apartment.
Police have since arrested five Chinese nationals and they have already appeared in court.
