The matric class of 2010 have achieved a pass rate of 67-point-eight-percent.
This figure is seven-point-two-percent more from 2009.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says she is proud of the matrics who have performed well, despite disruptions like the Soccer World Cup and the teachers' strike during the school year.
Gauteng takes the lead as the province with the highest pass rate of 78-point-six-percent followed by the Western Cape with 76-point-eight-percent.
Over 640-thousand matriculants wrote the National Senior Certificate last year.
