The Democratic Alliance has raised serious concerns about overcrowding at the George Mukhari neonatal ward outside Pretoria.

It is alleged that says only three professional nurses are caring for 15 critically ill babies.

Last year six premature babies died at Johannesburg's Charlotte Maxeke Academic hospital.

DA spokesperson Jack Bloom says the situation at George Mukhari is nearing crisis point.
