75-year-old Clive Derby-Lewis who is serving a life sentence for the murder of Chris Hani would need to be hospitalised next month for seven weeks as his cancer is taking its toll.
According to his latest oncology report he would also have to attend daily radiotherapy for almost a month.
The hope is that Derby-Lewis will be granted parole since he’s been denied parole in 2007 and 2010.
His lawyer Marius Coertze says his client learned on Friday that his prostate cancer was aggressive.
He confessed to his role in Chris Hani's assassination to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
