The flood water levels in the Vaal area have dropped a great over the weekend.
Forty-three families had to flee their homes when the floods hit, the families are expected to return home soon.
The Emfuleni emergency crew says they will remain on a high alert for at least another ten days.
The South African Weather Service has stated that the wet weather is expected to settle throughout the country this week.
The Western Cape will remain dry and extremely hot this week with temperatures reaching above 40 degrees in places.
