The Water Affairs Department says it will soon issue flood warnings due continuous heavy rains around the country.
Dams are currently overflowing in KwaZulu-Natal.
The flooding in the province has affected 300 families in five towns.
According to media reports Ladysmith is said to have been hit the hardest.
More rainfall has been predicted for the area over the next two days.
