Director-general of the department of Human Settlements, Thabane Zulu, says four provinces could lose their housing grants due to under-performance.
The four provinces are the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Free State.
These provinces are behind in with delivery or are under-spending.
Thabane Zulu says the funds may be redirected to provinces where the performance is better.
