Working on Fire in the Western Cape has warned people to take precautionary measures when they are faced with fires this season.
It has been reported that the province could be experiencing more fires till the end of February.
This is much attributed to the strong South Eastern, lighting and the hot weather conditions.
WOF Spokesperson Lee-Anne McKrill says fires start naturally and some are unavoidable.
She said, “It is important to make sure that you do not have a braai in windy conditions because the fire sparks are bound to spread.”
In case of a house fire, only essentials like your ID, cellphone, photographs should be saved as appose to a possession that are not relevant like a TV.
