Fifteen people were seriously injured in an accident involving a bakkie and two cars in Welkom early this morning.

The three vehicles collided and apparently the injured were thrown from the vehicles and lying at the roadside.

Meanwhile, one man has died in a motorbike accident near the Buffelspoort dam in the North-West.

The accident occurred yesterday when two men were travelling on a large motorbike and allegedly lost control and went off the road.

ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser says it seems that the motorbike travelled some distance through the bush before hitting a tree.

The passenger on the motorbike was declared dead on the scene, while the driver was severely injured and transported to hospital.
