An old age home that collapsed in Potchefstroom has left over 70 elderly people homeless.
ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson says many of the victims had lucky escapes from serious injuries as the dining room collapsed minutes after they had been eating there.
The elderly were given temporary shelter at the University of the North West and other was taken home by family members.
An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the collapse.
No one was injured during the incident.
