An illegal food dumping incident over the weekend in a township near Strand in Cape Town saw over 150 people being treated for food poisoning.
Today residents of Lwandle will be meeting to decide whether lay criminal charges against the companies suspected of dumping rotten food in the area.
Meanwhile, authorities in Cape Town said they would take legal action after the illegal dumping of expired food in the area.
City spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes told media over the weekend that samples of the food were taken for testing.
