Trade Union Solidarity says they are concerned that only one out of every ten matriculants who enter the labour market after matric will find employment.
This has been revealed I Solidarity Research Institute’s annual report on the prospects for 2010’s matriculants.
According to Solidarity’s deputy general secretary, “Dirk Hermann, a matric certificate alone does not offer job seekers a real advantage and attributes this poor trend to schools who do not prepare pupils for the labour market.”
Solidarity added that students who study further have a better chance of finding a job.
