The African National Congress says the Democratic Alliance is trying to silence media who do not favourably report on the party.
This follows the DA’s blacklisting of the Sowetan newspaper's political correspondent in the Cape, Anna Majavu.
The DA's director for communications, Ross van der Linde, says Majavu has a particular political agenda.
The Office of ANC Chief Whip, Mathole Motshekga said in a statement that the DA's actions are an attack on the freedom of the press.
The statement says people have a right to know what the DA does and the party cannot withhold information from journalists.
