The University of the Free State is investigating yet another apparent race-related incident on campus.
An 18-year-old Indian student has reportedly opened a case of assault after he was allegedly attacked by a group of white students.
One of them, dressed in a mascot outfit, is accused of strangling the victim until he passed out and had to receive hospital treatment.
University spokesperson Lacea Loader confirmed that the incident had taken place after a Varsity Cup marketing campaign.
