Mtutuzeli Nyoka has been fired as president of Cricket South Africa. This after a CSA special meeting of its member forum this morning at the OR Tambo International Airport.
Media reports the that majority of the forum supported a motion of no confidence in the president.
Therefore, the forum decided to relieve him of his post with immediate effect. The current vice president, AK Khan, will be acting president until a new president is chosen in August.
Nyoka declined to attend the meeting on the advice of his lawyers, citing short notice as the excuse, but his absence could not prevent an overwhelming majority of the 11 affiliate presidents supporting a motion of no-confidence in him.
