Former residents of District Six who were removed in the 1960’s have received brand new homes.
44 residents attended a handover ceremony with President Jacob Zuma in the historic Cape Town suburb.
President Jacob Zuma said at the ceremony that residents will receive their land claims finalised within three years.
It has taken 45 years for the 44 original residents to return to District Six.
